Evergreen Lodge receives a mixed bag of reviews, indicating a property with both appealing features and significant operational challenges. While some guests praise its convenient location, friendly staff and value, a recurring theme of poor service, cleanliness issues, and unsettling property conditions – including strong smells and privacy concerns – raises serious questions for potential bookings.
If you care about safety and privacy. This is not the place for you. Gabriel the front desk assistant believes anyone can have access to anyone's room. It wasn't until I brought my kids safety and we'll being into the conversation did he even start to apologize. Booo this place and Gabriel
This place sucks. For $500 a night. It's a hold hotel. With zero staff training. I was allowed to check in by guessing the name the reservation was under. I guessed wrong 3 times. I was not on the room but was still given keys to both rooms on the reservation! Gaberial the front desk manger Tried to tell me it was my fault for asking the wrong name. Telling me privacy issues are not a thing here. When I asked for the general manager he told me he was the highest manager here. Even though Breta Butts and Richard Mejia are general managers l. My bathtub doesn't drain. So no shower. The rooms are hot. It's disappointing you can be so close to Vail mountain charge so much money and provide such a run down hotel.
This place is a pile of crap. Look at the thermostat and wonder where your $700 / night is going. This place just absolutely sucks. Oh, and space heaters. In EVERY room. For $700/night… And the best part, no hot water upstairs and a shower that dribbles water. For $700/night. Who ever owns this disgrace of a hotel has 0 respect for others peoples money. Oh wait! We have a great view of… the Hospital. The manager is a nice guy, the owner should have this abomination taken from him/her immediately. What a total ripoff
We really had a great time at this place. We directly came here to have food at the annapurna restaurant and had a lot of luggage. The reception staff was really kind to store our baggage while we had food. This is really beautiful place.
great value and convenience. The front desk and maintenance people are very helpful. Gabriel is a great person, helping me with hot water and other things several times, always nice and ready to help with everything. Definitely will back again!
We stayed at Evergreen Lodge several times now and it really has become our budget-friendly Vail weekend stay-of-choice. As it is budget-friendly, expectation should match that (dated rooms, slight musty smell but they do steam clean their room carpets). It is dog friendly. Parking is simple and included in the room fee. They have always accommodated our parking request on day of arrival and departure if we were skiing on those days. Walk to Eagle Bahn is not much farther than if one parked at Lionhead garage. Also, Annapurna Restaurant is a hidden gem and the food there is quite good. We frankly really enjoy our stay here, and don't need the glitz and glamour for every weekend Vail trip.
The front desk host at nov26th ultra late was the best to myself and my family! Also, the hotel is beautiful. I will definitely continue staying here for every trip in Vail and recommend them.
We stayed at Evergreen Lodge at Vail for a night just before the start of the ski season. The timing was perfect—both the village and the hotel were very quiet and peaceful, which made for a relaxing stay. The hotel is very accessible and offers ample free parking for guests. Vail is compact and easily walkable, and the hotel’s location is convenient—close to the hospital and the public library. There’s also an all-day free bus service throughout the village, with the nearest stop right at the Vail Public Library. On the ground floor, you’ll find the reception and two dining options: a Nepalese/Indian restaurant and the Altitude Bar & Grill. There’s also a pool table for some fun downtime with friends. In the basement, there’s a large outdoor pool (closed during our visit), a small heated indoor pool, and a gym. We stayed in a queen room with two queen beds. The room was warm, cozy, and comfortable. There were portable fans in the cupboard for better air circulation if needed. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. Comfortable, convenient, and quiet—definitely well recommended!
The internet may be better than dial-up, but not by much. I thought I could get things done on the web while my friends slept in-- absolutely not. Slow if it opened a page at all. Typically got a "waiting for a better signal" message. There are 2 plugs for the TV, coffee maker and tiny fridge. Most hotels have upgraded the bathrooms in the last 30 years.
I loved my stay here, my room was great and the breakfast was great. But the front desk person(Steve) was a jerk. He said we had no oranges but then I saw him eating one from behind the counter. So I went up and asked for oranges again and he told me that there were none left although I could see them behind the counter!
