We stayed at the apartments. One bedroom, two bathrooms, large living room with two sofa beds. Really cozy, perfectly located. 5 stars

We absolutely loved our stay at lion square. From the amazing, friendly and helpful staff, being right by the gondola, the ski valet, the 3 pm choc chip cookies, the Friday wine and cheese and all the amenities (hot tub, sauna, heated pool) - we had the perfect stay. Our room also had everything we could possibly need. Everything was clean and maintained very well. Highly recommend for a ski trip. - We hope to be back!

Pros: - parking right in front of the entrance - concierge service - location in lions village and near free shuttle - hot tub, sauna - daily housekeeping - ski in/out - ski valet right in front of the gondola Cons: - expensive - room is too hot at night, had to open the window. Unable to use ceiling fan because it made a clicking noise. - shower made a high pitched screeching sound - ski valet only tag skis and not snowboards. I was told they don’t tag snowboards because there aren’t as many of them compared to skis. They take your snowboard and put them on a general rack and in the morning you just tell them which one is yours. This tells me they don’t value snowboards. Anyone can come up to that valet and claim a snowboard. They don’t even ask your name or your room number. No accountability. The worker at the ski valet agreed to tag my board after I pushed back on this policy.

I LOVED my stay here! The proximity to the slopes/gondolas cannot be understated. They have an in-house shop available for ski/snowboard rentals with a valet for your equipment once you return from the slopes. My room was comfortable and clean, all employees I encountered were friendly and helpful. The hot tub and saunas were also clean and comfortable. 10/10 looking forward to coming back!

When I come back to vail, I would stay in this place again. We had a hotel style room with two queen beds but they have larger units as well. I will say that our room had an odd smell but not enough that I requested a room change. Even though it was a hotel style room, it still had a microwave, a mini fridge, a toaster, a coffee pot (although it didn't work) and a fan which was amazing for white noise, made it feel like home. The staff here were so nice and helpful. They have fresh baked chocolate chip cookies at 3:00 p.m. but they go in like 15 minutes. We arrived at 3:30 on Friday and they have a wonderful happy hour reception on Friday evenings from 4 to 5:00 p.m. with beverages, charcuterie and desserts. Charter Sports is on the second floor of the building (the lobby is on the 3rd and spa/pool/locker rooms are on the 1st). It was convenient to rent our gear from them and walk it upstairs to the ski valet. The ski valet is actually outside of the building right beside the Eagle Bahn Gondola. They give you a card with a number when they your skis and poles and when you come back in the morning, you hand then your card and get your gear. When you ski back in at the end of the day, they're immediately on your left as you first enter the village. You just hand them your skis and poles again and they'll give you another card. You wear your ski/snowboard boots to and from your room. As far as being ski in/ski out, it doesn't get much better. You are a few feet away from the gondola so really it's a ski in/walk out a few steps, maybe 10 seconds, to the gondola. It was so close I didn't think to time it, it's just literally right next to it which is hard to tell on the map. After skiing each day, we would head to our room, take our ski boots and snow clothes off and head to the lobby for tea, hot chocolate, or coffee and oreos, which were available 24/7. Then we would get ready for dinner and come back and hit the hot tubs at the end of the night (there are 2 with towels in the locker room you can grab, make sure you bring your key card to access both). We had robes in our room which were so great to have to wear down there. Another awesome perk was that we skied after checkout on our last day and were able to leave our car in their parking lot (oh, and parking is free!) and then they let us use the locker room to change back into our clothes after skiing. The parking lot is outside but we had no problems finding a spot. The village on that side is great! A little smaller than the main village which is less than a 15-minute walk away, with free bus service. However, the lodge also has a free shuttle and they'll take you anytime you want and if you're in the village, you can just call them to come back and pick you up. This was such an awesome and convenient place for a ski trip. I will be recommending it to everyone I know coming to Vail. It really was such a well-thought-out property.

Stayed there two years in a row. The place is great BUT I left my curling iron on the last trip and it was stolen. I called twice and no one can find it. Is it my fault for leaving it? Yes. Does that mean I deserve to have it stolen less than 24 hours later? No. For an establishment of this caliber I expect more. I won’t be back. I would not recommend because clearly the staff is sketchy. There has been no effort to reimburse me. I won’t be back.

I’ll leave my prior post below. However after working with Bob the assistant manager, he handled the situation with grace and customer first mentality. I could not have asked for a better experience in the resolution. Understanding and looking for ways to help. Thank you Bob!!! We will now return alll due to your excellence in customer service. Staff onsite were kind and really tried to help but we had horrible experience with no hot water 3 of our 5 days. Starting on second day we called - one service tech flipped a breaker and said it’s fixed but it wasn’t so we called again. Another came and then was fixed for about 12 hours but then no hot water again the next day. My family of 7 inc three kids under 10 had to shower in the gym locker room twice. Also the guest bath tub doesn’t drain fast enough so you’re standing in water when the hot water was working. No shower curtain upon arrival and had to call for that. Maintenance warned us to put towel under dishwasher because “the seals are bad”. We also called service Ops to fix the fridge which had no ice and horrible clanking noise. They fixed that after two trips. The location is great and the staff were nice. But our vacation memories were damaged due to us having to take showers in the gym and no hot water to clean in general. All of this with a three year old. We had to rearrange our schedules to wait for service help on 5 separate occasions. It was not a good experience. We’ve been coming to vail for 26 years. This was just sad. Please avoid as I’d hate for any family to go through what we just experienced. It’s just not worth the risk. I don’t understand the positive posts except the location is great so maybe folks look past some of the issues and maybe the hot water heater issue is recent. Lionsquare Lodge 196 North. Exceptionally convenient location. Right next to the gondola. Lots of nice restaurants and stores right outside your back door. Really great swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Excellent service. It’s expensive but worth it.

Stayed in unit 650 at Lions Square Lodge this past week. Amazing location for skiing and view and the staff is very friendly. This unit has issues that need to be addressed...not all lighting worked, thermostats in two rooms didn't work, night table held up heating element covers in one room. Largest bedroom had no closet and opens up with double doors directly to kitchen area.
